According to some historians there is no record of Veronica’s Veil being in Rome prior to about 1100 A.D. It appears that this Veil was actually a reproduction of the Holy Mandylion which was kept in Constantinople at that time.
I believe that the Shroud of Turin was the Holy Mandylion. Therefore, I find Station Six of the Stations of the Cross useful In a history of the Shroud presentation because it leads us to the Mandylion. But I am concerned that, if I say as much to a Catholic audience, that I might be contradicting a Church dogma.
