In a local perish on the Feast of the Devine Mercy, the priest had the congregation all come up to touch the monstance containing our Lord and say Jesus, I Trust in You. Is this an acceptable practice?
The priest is asking the people to show reverence to the Lord by touching the monstrance. What could possibly be wrong with that? We do far more than that by actually consuming what the monstrance contains!
