Is the Orthodox Church in union with Rome?

I asked this question one week ago and still have not received an answer…PLEASE HELP!!!

I heard on a show someone state a Catholic Priest who converted to the Lutheran Church wouldn’t have a valid Eucharist at the Lutheran Church because he wasn’t in union with the Catholic Church and the Pope. Is this correct is my first question and second;

If that IS correct how can that be since the Orthodox Churches are not in union with the Pope either but they have a valid Eucharist plus all the other sacraments?

Hi,

What you heard was not correct. If he is a validly ordained Catholic priest, then he will be capable of validly consecrating the bread and wine even in a Protestant church.

Eastern Orthodox priests can validly consecrate because they are validly ordained. Protestant ministers are not.
