Is the Our Father Sung in Your Parish?

In the early days of the Novus Ordo, it seemed like it was common to sing the Our Father. The singing was usually accompanied by the organ. Now, I can’t remember the last time I heard it sung. Was there a ruling or directive that came out and discouraged this practice?
 
I don’t know if a ruling came out regarding it or not, but in our parish, we sing it about half the time. I know that the times we just speak it correlates to something, but I’m not aware of what ‘that’ is at this point.
 
I cannot vote because only one option is given in the poll. We chant it acapella maybe ten Sundays a year. The rest of the time is it spoken, not sung.
 
We also sing it a capella part of the time and say it the other Sundays. I don’t know why the difference, and for a number of years before this we always only said it.:confused:
 
In the Sunday Mass we usually just say it, but at the Youth Mass it’s sung to the tune of “Auld Lang Syne”.
 
There was no option for “I wish”. We just say it at my current parish.

At the parish I grew up at, they now sing it at one of their Masses (maybe the folk Mass) in a terribly, chintzy, call-and-response form that changes the words of the prayer. Way to go.
 
We recite it for the most part, but occasionally sing the Celtic Mass setting accompanied by piano.

It seems I’ve been somewhere in the past year or two where Our Father was sung. I didn’t particularly care for it. I don’t know if it was because it was very different from what I accustomed to or because it was distasteful.
 
It is sung at the family Masses on Sundays (the ones in the middle of the day), and it is spoken at the week-day Masses and at the early morning and the majority of the evening Sunday Masses. (They sometimes sing it at the evening Masses, but it is a very odd tune that is difficult to sing.)
 
We not only sing the Our Father every Sunday but sing most everything else as well. I feel sorry for modern Roman Catholics who do not.

My current parish- no, we say the Our Father very slowly to fully take in all the words and the meaning, esp now that Jesus is present with us in the Eucharist (listen to Fr. Larry’s “The Mass Explained” and you will understand).
My old parish- occasionally, in a very strange tune.

2 Parishes ago- Yes. Two different versions- one for regular Mass and one for monthly Teen Mass.
3 Parishes ago- I think so. Fairly certain. Yes.
4 Parishes ago- Oh My, YES! With everyone joining in, it was AWESOME!!!
 
I never heard the Our Father sung until the Charismatic movement came into being.

My parish doesn’t sing it, at the Mass I go to, and I’m pleased about that. They’d only mangle it. 🙂

The OF is sung on Sundays but just recited on weekdays.

I voted yes with other intrument because it is usually a piano instead of the organ.
 
I am a Protestant (Presbyterian). We chant the Lord’s Prayer accompanied by the organ.
 
We sing it, unfortunately. I’ve come to hate the tune. It’s accompanied by the piano at the Sat. vigil Mass & by acoustic guitars, electric guitar, sometimes tambourine & flute. Yech. 😦
 
Typically it’s just spoken, but occasionally chanted a capella.
