Is the Pope a Catholic

The funny thing is, there were times in Church history when alot of Catholics would have taken this question more seriously…
We’ve had some popes that were not the best role models, to say the least.
One does not have to look too far in history.

Ah, point of information–that a Catholic person may not be the ‘best role model’ has nothing to do with whether he is “Catholic” or not.

All the popes (I presume people are complaining of the few less than stellar ones?) were baptized Catholics. Obviously some had more difficulty following their Catholic faith–but that doesn’t make them into ‘non-Catholics’. “Bad” Catholics perhaps (though I hesitate personally to even go so far-- more likely Catholics --without qualifier–who sadly chose some bad actions.)

The OP has gotta be joking, right? Is the Pope Catholic? 🤷
I didn’t think it was a joke, but perhaps not worded as well as possible. Maybe the better poll question would be: Who is the current Pope?

(a) Pope Benedict XVI
(b) Pope Michael
(c) Pope Pius XIII
(d) I am a Church of One
(e) The chair has been vacant since 1958
(f) Cowboy Neal!

If you’re confused by the option F, it only means you’re not a complete and total computer nerd. 🙂

Interestingly enough, some of the first early popes were originally Jewish Christians, or Christian Jews - whatever. But of course one cannot be elected to the papacy if one is not both male and Catholic.

At least seeing sedevacantist claim the pope is not Catholic strenghtens my opinion that they, in fact, are the ones who have departed from the faith.
