Is the punishment in hell infinite?

I’m not sure in what way, the punishments of hell are called infinite?

Technically infinite anything is insensible for the infinite doesn’t move much less can it cause affections in things.

So how can one feel infinitely anything? Or is there a different sense of infinite like “of long duration”?

I’m not sure if it was in a Marian apparition, or from the Divine Mercy, but either Jesus or Mary told a Saint that if we understood how long eternity is, we would do all we could to avoid hell.
