I am working on project that addresses the issue of modernism in the Church, and in it I’m doing a section where I compare modernism with Jansenism, and I touch on the Sacred Heart. I was wondering how much is the Sacred Heart associated with the Traditional Catholic movement? Would it be considered a key emblem of Traditional Catholicism?

Not sure what you mean.

I can take the question 2 ways.

Do you mean that traditional Catholics often use the image of the Sacred Heart, in the sense that they like it and often make use of the emblem? If so, yes.

Or

Do you mean that if someone sees an image of the Sacred Heart, that person would know to associate it with traditional Catholicism? In other words, that the Sacred Heart would indicate that the person or group using it would be traditional, while other-than-traditional Catholics would avoid the symbol? If so, no.

When I look at the symbol you yourself chose for your profile here on CAF, I see the Sacred Heart.

That does NOT tell me that you are a traditional Catholic. You might be, or you might not, I cannot tell just by looking at the symbol.

At the same time though, that would be a symbol that a traditional Catholic might like. It’s also one that a other-than-traditional might like as well.

What is the Traditional Catholic Movement?

When and where are the meetings?
