I have to ask others. Do you feel a gathering happening? That maybe the second coming of Christ is close as described in Rev.?

No more so than it has been every other one of the last 1900-odd years since Revelations was written. ‘No-one knows the day or the hour’ people, no-one knows.

Yes, I know that only Christ knows the exact hour. I was just wondering if anyone see’s the signs Christ talked about in scripture? Or feels a type of gathering going on? I have been renewed in the Church the past year. Maybe this is a result of “open eyes” in my personal journey? God Bless , Tim

try reading one of the many books on Medjugorje or you can go on line. Mary, Our Blessed Mother, has many messages for us about our times.

Medjugorje isn’t an officially approved apparition, and is not likely to become so in the near future, so I wouldn’t recommend putting too much faith in it.

For myself, I simply try to live the best life I can, and I doubt I’d change too much if I knew it was all going to end in five minutes (except say an Act of Perfect Contrition of course).

Thank you both for your responses, I have this urge to evangelise, to help in this gathering, I can’t seem to shake it and really don’t want to. But I’m putting some people off I think, a seperation perhaps. In Christ, Tim

Well I think most would agree that most of the world, certainly the West, has reduced to a new low in terms of morals. But having said that, this is a relative thing and we have a patient God. As far as I know there is no definitive threshold that has been revealed to us that we must not cross. We do believe in a second coming. Yet we have no indication when. There is nothing to suggest the earth and mankind will not be around for thousands of more years. When you look at it statistically, odds are very much against it being in our lifetime.

As far as the “gathering”, could you elaborate?

Mijoy2, this gathering seems that most people I either know or bump into is turning toward God, sometimes after being away for some time. Tim

Thank you TOP. That’s a wonderful thing. I may be noticing the same. Or else I am just more sensitive to it since I came back after a long time. Either way, I will be more aware now and pay attention.

Most definitely something in the air. Yes, there seems to be a wonderful number of people seeking the Lord and coming into the Catholic Church. Praise GOD! Michael Brown’s website www.spiritdaily.com does a great job of keeping up with “the signs of the times” in current news around the world. He has a great book, Sent To Earth, showing very interesting weather changes and natural disasters that corresponded in history with very spiritual times.

No one knows the time of the second coming of Christ. Yet many times it seems we may be getting close to a time of great persecution. Then who knows maybe an appearance of someone with a solution for peace, though incompatible with the Catholic faithful (Antichrist).

But then again things could change for the better and give mankind another 2000 years of speculating.

There’s several things wrong with this picture. It talks about apparitions that are not approved by the Church. Books have authors and titles of questionable sources. The subject matters both Catholic and Protestant are so inconsistent. Stay away from this site, it decieves and misleads and encourages disobedience to the Church.

This is your opinion. Nothing on the site is condemned nor disproved by the church. The nice thing about opinions is everyone gets to have one! 😃

I hope so. I pray for it often. We pray for it in every Mass. What a glorious day it will be.

How about the fact that the site promotes advertisements for Medjugorje tours. Multiple links to Medjugorje sites. And having supposed seers ‘predicting’ future events. Only God can predict the future. Are you caught in the rapture trap by chance?

Don’t go down the Medjugorje road here. That thread has already been closed for good reason. And don’t be silly, the Catholic Church teaches against the non-scriptural notion of THE RAPTURE. God doesn’t predict future. HE KNOWS IT.

Of course God knows the future.

You’re right on the money pfoos. Read on …

the facts:
  • More confessions are heard at St. James Church in Medjugorje than in any parish in the WORLD
  • This keeps more than 150 confessors busy every single day
  • More than 30,000 priests and bishops have visited the Croatian village
  • In 1990 (at the peak of political unrest) 1.9 million people received Communion in Medjugorje
  • This number surpasses even those from the Shrine at Fatima
  • The local bishop who sought to condemn Medjugorje was halted from doing so by the Vatican
  • The Vatican subsequently removed that bishop’s jurisdiction (Bishop Mostar) over the apparitions.
And as far as what the BVM has apparently said regarding the Apparitions as they relate to the Church, the BVM has emphasized obedience …

(from a 1986 apparition)

***"One must follow the authority of the Church with certainty … **Yet, before she expresses an opinion, it is necessary to advance spiritually, because she will not be able to express a judgment in a vacuum, but in a confirmation which presupposes growth of the child. ***

First comes birth, followed by Baptism, then Confirmation. The Church comes to confirm him, who is born of God. We must walk and advance in the spiritual life, affected by these messages."

Keep a very sharp eye on Medjugorje people.

A VERY sharp eye …

The most recent message:
(their pulse is quickening somewhat …)

“Dear Children, I come to you because I wish to show you, by my own example, the importance of prayer for those who have not known the love of God. Ask yourself if you are following me. My children, don’t you recognize the signs of the times? Don’t you talk about them? Follow me. As your Mother I call you! Thank you for having responded.”

Ahhh, I am not alone. I’ve wondered if desiring the second coming was an appropriate desire.

That day will be the most dreadful day on all earth when Jesus comes as just Judge. Though I pray for Jesus to come to His people, I pray for mercy on that day because that day will be dreadful as Sacred Scripture says, ‘Even so, Lord Jesus come’

The truth is is that this day is coming, we know this, but we don’t know when but looking at the world and the signs it is displaying a person could ask ‘How much longer, surely not long?’ The world is shocking and people don’t seem to be shocked by what is happening in the world anymore. 😦

It doesn’t take a genius to read the signs of the times, it takes a person of faith.
