“I have obtained (this grace) from my divine Son, that those who propagate this devotion to my tears and dolors, will be taken directly from this earthly life to eternal happiness since all their sins will be forgiven and my Son and I will be their eternal consolation and joy.” - Our Blessed Mother to St. Bridget

I wouldn’t say it is, though I personally love the SSM.

I think the most important devotion is one that (a) leads someone to a deeper relationship with God and (b) someone can stick with.

No, there isn’t a most important devotion in the world. First of all, it is a private devotion, meaning that it is not an article of faith. In other words, a good Catholic could never indulge in the devotion or outright reject it and face no negative consequences because of that rejection.

Second and more personal for me… I would not indulge in this devotion because of the quote you referenced.

Why?

Yes. Meaning no disrespect, but I am quite leery of such alleged “promises” that smack of a “get out of jail free” card. I believe these kinds of things can be both seriously misunderstood as well as abused. In my case, I had an uncle who put on a scapular, then killed himself, poor man - because of the "Whoever dies . . . " “promise,” which I believe has been discredited. Our Lady took no shortcuts in her perfect obedience to God’s will, and I do not believe she would promote such.

The most important devotion in the world, is the Mass. Why? Because it has within it the Sacrifice of the Eucharist. And the Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith.

In very simple language, I reject the idea that by just saying certain prayers you get to go to heaven and reject the idea the Mary would instruct anyone in that way. You can not get to heaven on your knees. Leading an exemplary life with good works and adherence to the spiritual and corporal works of mercy are required - no one or the other… but that is just me
