Is the song: "Mary, Did You Know?" not for Catholics?

I am Catholic and wanted to sing the song “Mary did You Know” before Christmas eve Mass. My music minister stated the following, “On Mary Did you Know -* By copy right we are not allowed to changed the lyrics.* We cannot sing that song.*
The song is about Mary being redeemed.* It refers to her need of redemption, deliverance.* Our Catholic belief is that Mary did not need redemption, for she is the Immaculate Conception. *Mary was the worthy living tabernacle of Christ.”
Please let me know what the problem is. I sang this song at other parishes.

Hi,

Your music minister is misinformed. Even though Mary was conceived without the stain of original sin, she is a member of the human race and therefore was indeed redeemed. Mary’s preservation from original sin was accomplished in anticipation of her Son’s redemptive work. So the Son that she delivered did indeed deliver her!
