Is the whole Fatima message all about abortion?

Lenins USSR was the first country in the world to legalize abortion on demand. This seems like a pretty good reason for Mary to focus on Russia in her messages at Fatima …and not on countries like China or Saudi Arabia who have arguably bigger religious issues than Russia.

Mary gave birth to the Saviour. She is the Mother of God. And Mother of us all. So it would be natural for her to be outraged about abortion. So is the focus on Russia in her messages her anger at what Russia was about to do when Lenin came to power in the 1920’s?

Should the Fatima messages be re-read in this light?

And is her message that her “immaculate heart will triumph” a prophecy that abortion will be out-lawed in the future?

I don’t think we should view Fatima this way. Russia as a whole became Communist and rejected God, leaving a path of despair and destruction (not to mention almost bringing the world to an end). I would say abortion is a piece of the puzzle and the USSR’s attitude on abortion certainly reflected their wayward path, but I don’t think there’s any evidence pointing to abortion as being the central issue. Keep in mind that the USSR sent people to gulags and “purged” itself of millions of it’s population, among other atrocities.

I agree, the whole culture of death is Cain and Able on a GRAND scale. and I always thought Japan was the first to legalize abortion. God Bless, Memaw

Note that the text of the second secret refers in the plural to Russia’s “errors” not “error”.

We are still suffering today from the errors that Russia disseminated around the world.

(Many would argue that under Putin she is still in the process of spreading heretical errors, this time of the ethnic nationalist variety rather than atheistic communism, although Stalin is praised today by Putin and Patriarch Kirril).

China is as it is today, a one party Communist state, because of Russia’s “spreading of errors” after the October Revolution in 1917. The Church is still being persecuted and driven underground in that country.

Certainly abortion can be viewed as a facet of this but certainly not in isolation. There are many factors at play here.

The Message of Fatima was not just for then - 1917 ; neither has it ever been just for one country. Rather it is for each soul , and it is as timely today as it was then. It would appear the message will continue to remain just as timely up until the Triumph of our Blessed Mother’s Immaculate Heart.

Abortion is worldwide now. It flourishes both in those countries which practice atheistic communism and equally in our so-called democracies which are gradually snuffing out religious freedom. To * atheistic communism* , democracies offer the bed-mate of practical atheism . At the time of this posting, although the year 2017 is barely 3 days old, there have already been 258,830 abortions worldwide since January 1, 2017

That abortion (in the vicinity of 50 million worldwide annually) would not be a concern central to the Immaculate Heart of Mary , is unthinkable.

Still, in the larger picture , the eternal loss of one soul is a far greater tragedy than all the casualties of war put together.

The salvation of souls is why our Blessed Lord became a man.

And the salvation of souls appears to rank first in importance in the Fatima message. As Our Lady told the visionaries :
“You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart."
Our best response is to continue praying the Rosary - it is the weapon chosen by Our Lady. . . and it’s never too late to start. Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary is meant to happen in individual hearts before we look to large scale results. That isn’t a new idea: St Louis de Montfort had it figured out centuries ago.

If the definitive Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary is to take place in the world after our lifetimes, it only makes sense that the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart would have already occurred in our own hearts; and this, before we pass on.

EWTN identifies in their foreword to the article Message of Fatima ," two essential elements [of the Fatima Message], to which all others can be related in some way" :
The first of these elements is the singular role of the Immaculate One in the economy of salvation, a dogmatic fact. God does not have whims, and so the request of the Almighty that devotion to the Immaculate Heart be established in the world must be founded on reality and presumes that such devotion is justly given to the Mother of God.
The second of these elements involves the practical order, the value of devotion to the Immaculate Heart for the individual life and for the future of the human race. To this element are connected the various spiritual practices encouraged by the Angel and by the Lady, as well as the prophetic content of the message, upon which the fate of the world depends. Without the first element, the dogmatic, the practical dimension of the message of Fátima would be entirely arbitrary.
. . . Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Praying for the conversion of souls–world wide!

Lord, have mercy.
Christ, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen.

I feel that the “message” of Fatima can in many respects be understood as a sort of prophetic fulfilment of the symbolic narrative in Revelation Chapter 12:
**Revelation 12King James Version (KJV)
12 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.**
