Hello Catholic Answers Apologist!
Now to my question: earlier this day I heard on the local Catholic station John Martignoni claiming it pretty settled fact that there are different degrees of the beatific vision in Heaven.
He said that on earth there are individuals who earn more merit than others so they are rewarded with a “more perfect degree of the beatific image”. This is not the first time I’ve heard this answers but this time it did something inside me.
Maybe it has to due with my Protestant roots but this statement makes me balk. How can you get more perfect than perfect? And what is the point of purgatory if when its has been completed we are still at different levels of holiness?
