Is there a Communion protocol that can be printed in booklets?

In a recent answer Michelle Arnold made reference to the “Catholic Communion protocol.” I so appreciated her thought of including this on the inside front cover of Mass booklets. I am a Catholic printer and am asked frequently to design and print this type of handout for special Mass celebrations. I would like to at least propose its usage in the booklets I print.

If one of the apologists at CA could direct me to a well written, concise formulation of this protocol, I would be most grateful. I tried searching the Catechism and the forums here, but did not find suitable verbage. It can’t take up the whole inside front cover.

Communion protocol is extensive so that it may cover all foreseen circumstances, and so it might have to. The most complete and authoritative explanation for Communion protocol in the U.S. is Guidelines for the Reception of Communion, prepared by the U.S. Bishops Conference. In fact, that document states:

The guidelines, which are to be included in missalettes and other participation aids published in the United States, seek to remind all those who may attend Catholic liturgies of the present discipline of the Church with regard to the sharing of eucharistic Communion.

If you need ideas for how the guidelines can be formatted to a single page, I recommend looking at the missalettes produced by Oregon Catholic Press, in which the guidelines are printed on the inside front cover. I should note that you may also need to seek permission from the USCCB to print its guidelines in your booklets.
