Is there a good Catholic commentary on the Psalms?

Can anyone recommend a good Catholic commentary on the Psalms? I find some of the Psalms very confusing and I would like to understand them better. I know that the Navarre Bible has a volume on them, but I’ve never looked at it. Does anyone have it? Are there any others that are better?
 
Singing in the Reign by Michael Barber, forward by Scott Hahn, Emmaus Road Pub does a great job unpacking the layers of meaning in the psalms. anybody who prays LOTH, and is bothered by some of the more bloodthirsty or whiney passages will do a much better job of prayer the psalms after digesting this book.

I have the Navarre and, like all their commentaries, it is very good. An added feature I’ve noticed is that at the end of the commentary for each Psalm, an application for the Christian life is given. I suspect this is because the Psalms are each so self-contained, and the Church has made wide use of them in the Liturgy, especially the Liturgy of the Hours.

St Alphonsus wrote a book called “Explanation of the psalms and canticles in the Divine Office”. It’s available @ churchlatin.com
 
Although not Catholic, but there is an excellent book by an Orthodox priest on the Psalms called “Christ in the Psalms” by Fr. Patrick Henry Reardon. He does an excellent job of interpreting each Psalm in light of the revelation of Christ, and incorporates much from both Eastern and Western tradition in his reflections.
