Is there a Hebrew Rite as oppose to Latin or Eastern Rites?

If there is a Mass said in Israel in the vernacular it might be in Hebrew. There is no Hebrew Rite per se and nore than there is an English rite or a Spanish Rite.

Actually, there are both.

There was in pre-Reformation times the Sarum, Hereford, Bangor, and other English usages. And now there are the “pastoral provision” Anglican Rite parishes.

And there’s the Mozarabic rite (aka Toledo or Liturgy of Ss Isidore and Leander) observed in certain churches in Spain.

There might well be minor variations or useages that are peculiar or characteristic of the Latin congregations in Israel.

Great send me a copy of the specific “English” rite not the Anglican and the “Spanish Rite”. not the Mozarabic. I would love to see these rites that I have never heard of.

Since we no longer live in pre reformation times I didn’t specifically address those issues as the poster asked if there are, not of there were ever…

The OP asked if there was a Hebrew mass, not of there was an Aramaic one. It looked like you may have gotten confused as many do, Brother thats all. Many think that Hebrew and Aramaic are the same and interchangeable.

True, but the answer was not unreasonable as the languages and their respective cultures are closely related, and a person interested in the one may also be interested in the other. It would not be unlike if I asked if there was a restaurant that made a good spaghetti and someone told me about one whose house speciality was linguine.

I assume you’re capable of using Google to look up Sarum Rite and Mozarabic (Spanish) rite–which is STILL celebrated, btw.

perhaps not exactly the answer, but I did attend a Mass in Hebrew in Jerusalem
