Is there a patron saint for discernment"? I want to give a number of high school graduates a medal with this patron saint to help them with decisions in the future.

I suggest Ignatius of Loyola whose Spiritual Exercises were created by him to help aid right discernment. His order, the Society of Jesus, has also been highly active in higher education and founded a number of universities in the United States. Here is a great quote on right discernment of truth from Ignatius:
We should always be prepared so as never to err to believe that what we see as white is black, if the hierarchy of the Church defines it thus.
In other words, Ignatius is cautioning that one should never be so settled in one’s personal opinions that one is not open to correction by the authority of the Church.
