Is there a point where the Eucharist loses it's consecration?

Desecration of the Eucharist really bothers me – that is, not consuming the host during communion but keeping it for some other purpose. After a host has been consecrated, is there a point other than dilution where the host ever ceases being Jesus’ body and blood?

Dear mil,

Certainly, if one dilutes the Host or the Precious Blood so that the is no longer the appearance of bread or wine, the Lord’s Body and Blood are no longer present. But otherwise, the Real Presence remains.
