Is there a proper way on how to discern for a vocation?

If you are 27 and getting over a heartbreak I would suggest you wait until your emotions settle. Marriages on the rebound don’t really work well and vocations on the rebound are ‘iffy’ too. Give yourself a year or two. You have plenty of time. Nowhere did I see you mention that you love the Lord beyond measure and desire to serve Him always.

Getting a spiritual director is a very good idea when discerning whether you are called to marriage, single life, or religious life, or a secular institute. Ultimately god and the church will affirm if you are on the right path. In my experience you will find that when you make your decision, if you are accepted after application if you chose to enter religious life, that god is showing you you have a vocation through the church.

All are called to holiness no matter the state of life however.

I’ve been serving the Lord through the Singles ministry in our Catholic charismatic community. I was called to serve for about 8 years now and that’s what I love to do. I express my love for God through ways I can serve others. It’s just that yeah I’m getting over a heart break. Thanks for your advice though.

I agree that whatever state of life we choose as long as Christ is first, we abide in Hm and live a life of holiness, God will prosper us like never before.
