Is there a strong Latin Mass Community in Minnesota, Wisconsin & or Michigan? Thank you!

Hi!

I would love to hear from either residents or past residents, or people who might know the following:

Do you have access to the TLM/EF/ Latin Mass in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan?

If so, in what towns?
Is there a large Latin Mass community in your area?
Is it an active community?

Which of the above states do you feel is more Catholic, more of a Catholic culture?
Which one has a Bishop that loves & supports the TLM? Meaning, it will stick around 😉
Are there any Monasteries or convents in any of these states?
Do any of these states have the FSSP or Institute of Christ the King ?
Which one has less sprawl?

When I looked online I found a Saint Pius V, but I think they are not with Rome, right?

I would love to find a Church that has the Latin Mass every Sunday.
Illinois has several Churches offering LATIN & GREEK to its members. In addition to daily Mass in the EF 👍
And the Kansas area seems to have a very strong Latin Mass community. I was hoping to find something similar in either Minnesota, Wisconsin or Michigan. I used to think of them as really Catholic, is that still the case?

I was also under the impression that Father Z’s Church was in the Minnesota area, but I recently found out that is not the case.

I live in Michigan. I have been born and raised with the Ordinary Form.

The closest Extra Ordinary Form (Latin Mass) offerings are in parishes at least 50 miles from me. I have yet to hear back from my own diocese on them offering the Latin Mass in Extra Ordinary Form.

I have traveled to 2 different parishes so far for the Extra Ordinary Form Mass, and both times were Low Masses. Someday, I wish to experience the High Mass and also the Missa Cantata versions.

A few dioceses that border on the one I live in currently have a few parishes each that offer the Extra Ordinary Form Mass. One of them emailed me back with a list of those diocesan parishes that offer the Mass either on Sunday and/or a weekday.

Both sites are very outdated so I’d call and check before I went any distance.
The first site is VERY sedevacantist with its listing. latinmasstimes.com/
The eccelesiadei.org site is just slightly outdated but does have FSSP and Diocesan TLM’s.

Detroit has a very nice TLM celebrated at 9:30 at St. Josephat’s in Detroit. And the archbishop has even been the celebrant. It is at the corner of Canfield and I-75. In a very old Polish church, really beautiful.

I live in Wisconsin, and the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest does a lot of Latin Masses in the Milwaukee area. St. Stanislaus has the TLM for almost everything, and every second sunday of the month it’s done at St. Peter’s in Kenosha.

Do you know what neighborhoods are close to this Church?
Is there a safe neighborhood within walking distance of the Church?

Does the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest have the entire Church to themselves like some of the FSSP do?
Or are they just there for a couple of Masses?

In Michigan, I have attended at the following churches that are diocesan and offer the EF:

All Saints, Flint (Sunday afternoons)
St Cyril and Methodius, Sterling Heights (Saturday evenings)
Immaculate Conception, Lapeer (Thursday mornings)
Blessed John XXIII, Lansing (Sunday mornings, meet in the crypt of St Mary Catherdral)
Old St Patrick’s, Ann Arbor (currently 2nd Sunday of month at 12:30pm, may change later)
 
St. Paul, Minnesota has the remarkable St. Agnes Catholic Church community, which presents the Ordinary Form of the Mass in about the most reverential form you can imagine. According to their website:

"The Second Vatican Council ordered that the treasury of sacred music be preserved and fostered with great care. It also commanded that the Latin language be used in worship and Gregorian Chant be given pride of place in liturgical celebrations.

We are trying to fulfill these directives of the Church’s Highest authority by singing polyphonic Masses with orchestra, a capella compositions and the propers of the Mass in Gregorian Chant."

In addition to founding the Twin Cities Catholic Chorale, they have their own Chamber Choir, Schola Cantorum, and Children’s Choir. Their Masses are presented about as close to the original Vatican II documents as you can get. On top of everything else, the church is unbelievably beautiful, built in the Baroque style of southern Germany and the old Austro-Hungarian Empire. You could drop the building into The Sound of Music and it would not be out of place. Here is a link to their website:

Green Bay WI has St. Joseph’s Oratory. They’ve been saying latin masses there since Vat II; I’ve been there a few times, and its filled almost ot overcrowding. Our bishop, David Ricken, is friendly to the TLM (he’s also the bishop who approved the Marian apparition in Robinsville). The oratory is staffed by the Institue of Christ the King. The TLM will be offered in Manitowoc (south of Green Bay) at St. Bonifice parish every 1, 3, and 5 sunday of the month at 1:30 as well.

The Green Bay diocese has been rather liberal in its tendencies. I believe this is starting to turn around though; I’ve heard that our new bishop is really stiring the pot;) You ahve to take that newly approved apparition into perspective. This diocese is really struggling, esp in the area of vocations. But now I have no doubt that the BVM will turn this around; I don’t think its a coincidence that the shrine is dedicated to Our Lady of Good Help.
