I was wondering, is there any way to contact the Pope (ie, write a letter). Obviously, I wouldn’t expect it to get to him personally, but I was just wondering if there was some avenue of communication between the laity and the Holy Father. Or do you have to go to your priest or bishop?

I was looking around the vatican’s web site, and I couldn’t find anything. I don’t even know if the means exist.

To write a letter to the pope address your envelope like this:

His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI
Vatican City
Rome, Italy

In your letter begin with: Your Holiness,

And conclude with: I have the honor to be, Your Holiness, (your name)

Update: Another forum member has pointed out that the Vatican web site includes a link to email a greeting to the Holy Father (or just use this email address: benedictxvi@vatican.va).
