Is there any way to delete all my posts from CAF? In the past few months, I have learned a lot about online safety, and about how to deal with people, both online and in real life. Despite my extremely good intentions, I have not, God forgive me, been an asset to the forum, and it was very naive of me to put so much personal information online. I don’t think I fully realized that the world and his wife could read it. Now I do, and the implications of that are potentially disatorous. I’ve learned (the hard way) to keep my personal life personal. Also, my name (Teeliumtrozzle) is well known by my community (even most of my teachers) and is often used by my comrades. If they were to google it, I don’t like to think about what would happen. Anyway, if there is a way to delete all my posts, plz tell me. Thankyou.

I’ll miss you. I hope you can do what you need to do to be safe. If only mor people understood: Once anything is broadcast, especially online, it exists forever and may already have been printed just where you don’t want it. I’m not trying to scare you; you’re probably fine. But people need to be careful.
I’ll pray for your safety and privacy.

I agree with the previous post-er–there is likely no way to delete anything at this point. I read some of your posts, and as far as I have read, you haven’t said anything terrible or that you should be embarrassed by. I Do know, though, that you want to quit the forum, and it IS troubling to be addicted to something that you want to give up. It is “love and hate” locking horns—lol. But I HAVE had this experience before of being addicted to something, and the best way is one experience of temptation at a time----when you feel the urge to view the CAF, then go to EWTN.com or something to read the question and answers. In other words, SUBSTITUTE something else for CAF. Pretty soon you will lose the urge because you will have started liking something else better.

If that doesn’t work, then change your password (make it really complicated so you won’t commit it to memory) and then delete the email of the new password.

GOOD LUCK

You should be able to delete your messages by pushing the “edit” button…located in your post near the bottom (only you can see this)…delete the text, and just type a letter or leave a smiley, because something has to be typed for this to work.

God Bless

Hi TT…Would be very sorry to see you leave, but if you really think it is necessary, try explaining your situation to a moderator or the administrator and see if they can help. I think once you loose the “edit” feature after 20 mins after posting, one cannot delete a post onself.

Good luck and with God’s Blessing always…Barb:)

I doubt that it is possible to delete all your past posts. Not only that, but even if they were all deleted from CAF archives, I think they would remain in the archives of various search engines such as Google and Yahoo, who never delete anything, as far as I know.

Maybe you could ask the admin to change your user name so that you would not be recognised should someone google and also lessen some of your profile info.

I am asuming that if you change your user name all other posts with your username in the thread topics will change to your new user name.

Just guessing, but I think this whould have no effect on all the old posts archived by Google, Yahoo and others. They keep their own databases.
