I am getting married for the second time in the Catholic Church. I would like to have my 17yo be my maid of honor, but is she to young to sign the marriage certificate?
Marriage witnesses for the civil side of marriage are regulated by civil law. It would depend on the state in which you are getting married. Church law does not spell out any specific requirements for the witnesses for the sacramental record. So I guess, in theory, you could have different witnesses sign for the civil and religious records.
