I am asking for educational purposes, so please help me out here.
Hypothetical situation:
There is virus going on in the world. The situation is not yet drastic, but its knocking at the door.
Hypothetical person Mike is reasoning like this:
“I have to go to work anyway, go out to buy groceries, so why would I not go out and have fun with my friends at bar anyway?”
So, just because he needs to be expose to some risk he thinks it’s ok to be exposed even more even when it’s not necessary , while knowing that it’s not only risk for him but for the people, hospitals and other.
Let’s just put the actual risk aside now, and should he go or now, whether health officials are advising to stay at home or no and just concentrate on that line of reason: “If it’s already risky, than it’s ok to make it even more riskier”
Is there an error of reason, moral, logic or something here and what is it called? Especially from Catholic perspective
