The title question seems pretty self explanatory.I’m curious to know if there is such a thing and whether there main concern is to spread their faith or also to help develop communities.

I did a man dressed in Islamic garb offering these two White American women a green book that says something like “The truth about Islam.” I’m not Muslim but I’m glad their doing passive mission work to evangelize instead of those terrorist organizations who falsely represent REAL Muslims.

Why would you be glad? What if they where Christian, should you feel glad they are being passively lead away from Christ? Passive missionary work, aggressive missionary work, what is the difference if both have the same goal in mind? (a worldwide caliphate)

followingtheway,

Why are you angry of what John have said !, what he said is true, Islam leads you away from JESUS, here are the main contradictions from Quran (not to mention what is written in Hadith):
And FYI, terrorists/extremist are 100% real Muslims, they are implementing Islam as it was in early Muhammed’s days, not what current Muslims are trying to show to polish their image infront of the world, I think you should read Islamic history, and this link is a good start.

I’m pretty sure the Islamic equivalent of missionaries is, well, “Islamic missionaries”, just like the Buddhist equivalent is Buddhist missionaries. Obviously there are Arabic and Sanskrit (respectively) words for them, and the concepts are a bit different, but they’re still missionaries.
