Is there an OT prophecy that God would dwell among us?

The answers that come to mind are Isaiah 7:14 where it the prophet speaks of Immanuel, which means, “God with us” and Ezekiel 37:27, which says, “My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people.”

There are many passages in the OT where God says he will make his dwelling among his people. While many of these have local significance in the OT, many are held to have dual-meaning in that they also apply to Christ and the indwelling of the Spirit, or perhaps a still-future time.

I we accept Jesus as the Good Shepherd, then Ez 34:11 is a prophecy of His coming.
For thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I, I myself will search for my sheep, and will seek them out

Helping my own post. I also found:

Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

And an allusion that parallels “In the beginning was the Word”…

Micah 5:2 But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans [a] of Judah, out of you will come for me who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins ** are from of old, from ancient times.**

I also saw the holy city, a new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, God’s dwelling is with the human race. He will dwell with them and they will be his people and God himself will always be with them (as their God). (Rev 21:2-3)

As the new heavens and the new earth which I will make Shall endure before me, says the LORD, so shall your race and your name endure. From one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, All mankind shall come to worship before me, says the LORD. (Isaiah 66:22-23)

Peace,

Ryan 🙂

Isaiah 7:14 is most striking:
Therefore the Lord himself will give you this sign: the virgin shall be with child, and bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel.
What does Immanuel mean? “With us is God
