Is there any hope for Jehovah's Witnesses?

They were baptised and confirmed Catholic in their youth and then formally rejected their faith (I think maybe even destroyed their baptismal certificates). I wouldn’t consider JWs to be Protestants.
Hi - I guess that is different. You never know, they may return one day of their own accord.

😦 Do they have any recourse to legal channels of justice?
They do and some have pursued these, but more often than not the victims were expelled before they could do this or expelled because they pursued legal action.

The belief of the Witnesses is that they are the only people of God, so any legal action against them or their representatives is theologically considered an attack by Satan and his minions. Unless their rules are followed and met AND their church elders are satisfied that they themselves have reached a “correct” agreement (JW elders act as judge and jury in these situations), any action outside of this is considered an evil act of rebellion.

I have seen a similar line of thinking with my relatives, in that it seems they view the hurtful way they treated or treat some non-JW family members as OK, because they are now in a superior, “annointed” religion and are themselves morally superior and not in need of repentance or reconciling. One example is they don’t really seem to honour their parents.

My biggest prayer! I keep hanging on to the hope of the graces found in baptism, that mark that cannot be removed.
