Is there any hope?

Since the so-called “sexual revolution” (interesting that we didn’t have the theft revolution, or murder revolution; we kept the morality intact on those ones):

I see broken families everywhere.

I see children without fathers, or (less often) mothers.

I see the horrible, industrialised slaughter of the unborn, to the tune of 200,000 deaths per year.

I see rampant promiscuity, leading frequently to regrets, remorse, disappointment, and ultimately, a lack of respect for self and others.

I see stick-thin, emaciated women plastered all over papers and magazines.

I see pornography the length and breadth of this land; a sea of filth covering society and from which not even young children can now escape.

I don’t see much of a future in a society like this. I find this is the key moral problem in our society right now, but too few seem to care anymore, the old for the new age seems to sound better to those. 😦

Hmmm… Yes I know what you mean. All we can do is pray and try and set an example. And get involved where we can.

There will always be hope as long as Christ is with us and we know he will–Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Be not afraid! 👍

Yes there is hope.

God is in control of this and He loves all of us as if we were the only one. I recall Mother Angelica saying, many, many years ago that she prays for the world’s conversion and that she “believes it can happen”.

Pray constantly for this. Try not to let this overwhelm you as it can\will cloud your thoughts and heart leaving an opening for despair and then we will be of no service to anyone.

We are born into the time period that we are born into, we cannot time travel back to a time before the sexual revolution Instead of lamenting our generation, volunteer to make things better for children 🙂

Every time we bring one person to Catholicism we are realizing the hope.
I was tempted by sexual sins. And I committed such sins. But thanks to God, I have overcome them.
So the Kingdom of God is growing, in the hearts of those individuals, with whom God is well pleased.

“Don’t look here and there and all around, the Kingdom of God is within you.” Luke 17:21

Here is the reason to hope. We are on the winning side. Eternity with our creator awaits us. We just need to persevere here in this fallen world and do as much good as we can.

One reason to despair perhaps is most of the people around us will not make it to heaven or purgatory. This path to heaven is narrow and few enter. The path to hell is wide and many go there.

For many people here today, there is no way to convince them to change their life and get into the state of grace and fight with the church militant instead of against it. Many simply do not want to give up their way of life. We can pray and be ready to give them the right words when they ask for enlightenment.

From my perspective, things are pretty much the same as they always have been…only now , things are out in the open.

In the 50’s, women popped pills, men drank, beat their wives and kids, cheated on each other, had anonymous gay sex etc etc…

All behind closed doors and no one talked about it.

The information age has simply opened up our eyes to the human condition.

I thank chance for that and I suppose, you thank God for setting today’s state of affairs into motion.
