Is there any saint like this?

Hello.
I’m looking for a saint who I can look up to (male only). I decided that my patron saint would be st Louise de marillac but I’m a male so I’ll need a male confirmation saint.
think because my first goal in the next few years would be the conversion of my family who aren’t Christian, I’d like if I get some inspiration. Is there any saint who upon conversion also converted his family or to put it another way- a saint for converters? ( if that’s even a word)

Also I have decided against wasting my time and getting things done quickly. Any saint for distractions and hard work?

There is no rule that says your patron saint must be of the same gender. I know several females who chose male saints, and vice versa.

Someone else will have to field your other questions.
 
You can have a female patron. It’s not a legal name. It’s only between you , the Bishop and God. I think several people have said this.
St. Monica is the most famous saint for conversion…
there are many others.
Just google it and read their stories.

Well darn that opens a WHOLE nother botch of possibilities i have not considered yet but now need to…oh and im not trying to hijack the thread, but another question: Is it like vocation, where God is calling you to a specific one, or is it totally preference, between me and the saint?

Srsly, choosing a Confirmation saint is a wonderful experience in meditation, prayer, and discernment. AND you make a wonderful new friend and helper in the process. A win-win!!! 😃
 
You can also use the masculine version of a female patron’s name: Louis for St. Louise, John, Juan, Ivan, et cetera for Jean, Joan, Joanna, et cetera.

Of course, the greatest saint for making converts is St. Paul, and there are many other great missionary saints who were men. You’ll have a little trouble finding male saints who “convinced” their household to convert in the early Church, because like Joshua, they could just say “As for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.” (Josh 24:15) This is why there are many more female saints like St. Nonna (of Naziazen) and St. Monica among the saints who used prayer in order to lead their families to conversion.
 
How about St Augustine? Although HE was the one converted, he knows what it is like to be a non-believer, and it would be perfect to ask for his intercession.
 
Is there a patron saint of choosing patron saints? 😃 I could use their intercession…
 
Choose a saint for confirmation and study the saints. You can have more than one devotion…many Catholic Christians are good to study and learn from

Blessed pier Giorgio Frassati.-this person came to my mind first when I read your thread. Look him up.

I also thought of Mother Teresa of Calcutta-I know many men and women who worked with her and saw her put Christ into action.

St Joseph-workers. My particular favorite, husband to Mary, foster father to Jesus. Strong and humble. A carpenter. A man of faith.

And yes, Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael are considered Saints. Their festival day is coming soon.

Don’t worry so much about who you choose. The right one will come to you. Just learn about them and begin a devotion on a particular day or feast day. No reason you can’t choose a female saint or even a hyphenate: two saints: Nicholas / Teresa, although some discourage that.

You can use “Louis” (male form of Louise) as your confirmation name – just as many male Catholics have been named “Mario” or “Marion” after our Blessed Mother.
