THe Bible doesn’t sayThe only parts in the Bible I can remember about Joseph being mentioned is before and during Jesus’ birth, and little after. However, during Jesus’ life time when he goes out to preach, Joseph isn’t mentioned anymore, just the Blessed Virgin Mary. What happened to Joseph?

My mom told me the same.http://www.photosnag.com/img/4673/n09x0302vnsn/clear.gifJoseph is with Mary when they go up to Jerusalem for the Passover and Jesus stays behind in the Temple when they leave for home - Luke says that was the year the Lord was 12 (which would make sense as it would have been His Bar Mitzvah year). That’s the last mention and so it is presumed that Joseph died when Jesus was a teen or young man. Tradition suggests Joseph was a good deal older than Mary, so it would not be surprising if he died when Jesus was fairly young.
The devotion of praying for a “Happy death” reflects on the likelihood that St. Joseph died attended by Jesus and Mary, a situation we would all aspire to!

We don’t know of course, ultimately. But along the same lines I could ask why didn’t he mention Mary by name? The fact that he didn’t mention Joseph might of course mean he (Joseph) had already died, but it’s inconclusive.
