I’ve prayed for the rain (my future husband) for long seven years, but I didn’t prepared my field for the rain. I was unfaithful in little things (I didn’t pray every day and I didn’t use my time wisely). After long long seven years God finally sent an awesome man my way. But because of my lack of faith I got scared and hurt him and he ran away. We’re friends on Facebook. But that’s all. He lives in another city.

How does God view this situation? Seven years ago I asked Him if I should pray for my future husband and He said: Yes. Do you think that God can/want to help me in this situation? Why He sent that man my way when He knew how it will end???

Of course he wants to help you, if not he/she will not be God…
Sometimes it takes a little of initiative from our part in order to make things happen, do your part with the best intentions and God will guide you in the right way!

Good luck!

Please get some counseling from your priest.
OP, dear one, getting scared doesn’t usually lead to hurting others. It is what we permit ourselves to do because we are over-eager or afraid or whatever else we are that is uncomfortable or painful that hurts others. Sometimes, too, others put expectations of their own onto a situation and are responsible for their own hurt. You have to know that sometimes you aren’t the only one who is scared, the only one who has prayed, the only one who doesn’t know how to handle a confusing courtship…other people run because they are scared, too. Sometimes, too, they walk away because the person they found to court, although very lovely and desirable, is not the person for them. You found someone who interested you, but you don’t know that you lost the husband that God had in mind for you. You don’t even know that when you asked God for a husband, that God’s answer was “yes”! Maybe God’s answer was, “I have something better in mind” or “I have someone else in mind”. You need to keep listening, keep trusting, and keep serving God above all your own desires.

Listen to 1ke and have a talk with your pastor. Besides letting him give you feedback about what you mean by “got scared” and “hurt him” and so on, he can give you guidance about what kind of on-going guidance and spiritual help you might find helpful as you continue to mature in your love of God and neighbor.

All is not lost. You are still in God’s hands. Be at peace, but do get help to decide what you might do next and how to prepare yourself for future courtship situations.

Thank you for your advice, too, Maracuya!

You’re absolutely right. Thank you very much.
