Is there anything I can listen to or read to help me understand the more controversial parts of the bible?

Links would be appreciated! I’ve been struggling with my faith a lot today and I want nothing more to love God. But i’ve always been a kind of person who focuses on the Component of the Bible that is easier for me to understand. The downside is that if i encounter criticism of The Bible I find that I lack the skills to defend it and even worse it makes me feel not close to my faith.
