Obviously most of the time, people with issue’s usually turn out to have mental issues that should be treated via medication but what if they are possessed by evil spirit’s?

You can refer them to a mental health counseling center (if they are not already getting psych care) and also to a priest. They should be discussing this issue with a priest, not with other lay Catholics.

You can also pray to God requesting that He help them to heal from their condition (whether mental or spiritual) and that He guide their mental health counselors and priest to provide the best help.

If a person is possessed, prayers will help. An exorcism by a priest is the usual remedy.

If a person is possessed then they need to see a priest. The priest will diagnose when told and then act accordingly which would be in the form of exorcism blessing to a certain type depending upon scale to which the person is possessed.

If there seems to be a possibility of the person being possessed, they should speak with a Priest about it and go from there. I think I read in “An Exorcist Tells His Story” that Confession is even more harmful to Demons than Exorcism. Confessing your sins and being in a state of grace will surely be helpful in a fight against possession, obsession, or oppression. So talk to a Priest, go to Confession and Mass frequently, pray, and try making it to adoration would be the advice I have.
