Is there anything you would sell your soul to the Devil for?

If I can ask for whatever price I want… definitely!

Since I do not have a soul, the poor, dumb Devil would have to give me something for nothing. And of course the Devil (if existed) would be the dumbest of all. Only a drooling idiot would rebel against God if there was no chance of succeeding.

But even if I had a soul, I would come out winning. Try to figure out how. To help here is a not-too-bad, but not a really good attempt: That Hell-Bound Train I could do much better than that.

Hi Serious, just wanted to let you know that you do indeed have a soul. Scoff all you want, but its true and you will realize this someday. 😉 Hope it doesn’t take you by surprise.

Where? If you can answer this, I will go and check for it. If you cannot, why should I take you seriously? But it does not matter… I have the solution for the question of the OP even if I have a “soul”. The poor devil is not a worthy adversary. It is easy to trick him.

Unfortunately I am not a writer, but I can come up with a nifty trick. All I need is the freedom to ask for ONE little thing, and the poor devil would be stumped - if he existed, which he does not.

I understand your thinking because I too used to be an atheist. Just keep looking and youll find your truth someday.

My request is: “Grant me all the requests that are preceeded with a special phrase and which are concluded by a special phrase”… after all I do not want some emotionally charged request to be carried out and that special phrase would prevent that. And then the next (properly formatted) request would be: “Forget about our deal, but keep on granting my requests”. No big deal. So the poor sucker would have to keep on granting my requests, but would forget about the price I was supposed to pay. Of course it is not fair, but why would I have to play fair with the devil?

Oh, that is interesting. What happens to a person whose soul was sacrificed for the souls of others. Would you really loose your soul and be without hope for redemption? Or would you be automatically considered truly holy and immediately ascend to heaven?

If anyone has scriptural or other types of insight into these questions, I would love to hear your answers because I really want to know.

Martina
Speculatively, if it’s considered the highest form of sacrifice to give up one’s life for another, what about giving up one’s immortal soul (assuming for the sake of argument that we have such a thing)? Is this to be considered a greater, more noble sacrifice? The person who dies a martyr, presumably, receives their eternal reward, in the form of having their soul spend eternity in paradise; what reward would be left for a person who had given up their soul? It seems like this would be a zero-sum game.

Have you actually matched wits with him? In my eyes someone who embarks on a course of action which he KNOWS is futile (rebel against the most powerful being) is an idiot.

That is the topic of the thread.
