In Diocese of Venice, FL TLM is spread out. Sarasota ( TLM was at St. Martha, TLM now at
Christ the King), Fort Myers (resurrection), and Naples (St. Ann).
TLM Masses under FSSP in this region.
My first TLM was at St. Martha, Sarasota in Jan.2009. I recently went to TLM at Resurrection, Ft. Myers this past Sunday.
The attendance is small at Resurrection but slowly catching on. I noticed families attending this parish and even diverse cultures attending this mass.
I am now researching and watching videos on TLM Mass. TLM Mass has increased my respect and reverence more when I go to Novus Ordo Masses. Novus Ordo Mass is so laid back and easy. This past winter in North Fort Myers, I attended a Byzantine rite Mass (Sui Juris 1654).
I noticed the respect and reverence at TLM. The discipline at TLM is like night and day.
The Novus Ordo Masses I attend is in St. Raphael, Lehigh Acres. The priests there are very disciplined, reverent and respectful. We sing Gloria, Sanctus, and Agnus Dei in Latin. They are very much in support for TLM, and possibly could be able to celebrate TLM but they have told us they are very limited in Latin language , the training is very intense and left to FSSP order to run TLM. Oh yes this Novus Ordo parish has kneelers and ornate tabernacle visible behind the altar. They also have 24 hr Perpetual Adoration. In their recent church bulletin they have sent the message on availability of TLM Mass at Resurrection, Ft. Myers, Sunday’s 12:30 PM.
I pray and hope in the future for more TLM Masses in my diocese.
God Bless.
