Is this a permissible exception for abortion?

Hello,

After reading Trent Horn’s book on abortion, I am left with only one last questions for which I cannot find an answer

If a woman conceives a fetus through rape and due to the pregnancy is at a very high risk for death(maybe she has a strong history of or an active pulmonary embolus), would she be able to abort the fetus as an act of self-defense?

I ask this because;

If I were put in a position by another, say strapped to a table, and this person(phlebotomist) was going to draw enough of my blood to save another person’s life but kill me, would I not be able to kill the innocent person in order to save my life if it were not possible to kill the phlebotomist? This appears to be similar to a government killing innocent lives in a war because it is the only way to stop the government.

I greatly appreciate your response! Please poke many holes in this argument!

God Bless

Dear friend,

No! In the first example, the perpetrator is the rapist—not the innocent baby. In the second example, the perpetrator is the person who strapped the woman to the table—not the baby. In both instances the baby is innocent. No one has the moral right to take innocent human life!
