Is this a proper use of anointing?

My priest proposes to anoint me thrice a year - at Christmas, Easter and on a family anniversary - in part because I am sick and in part as a way of receiving a sacrament on these special days. My illness is degenerative and ultimately fatal but the timeframe is unclear. Since I am always getting worse, is it okay to be anointed according to my priest’s plan? If so, how long before must I receive penance - last time was two weeks before anointing?

The sacrament may be repeated if, during the same illness, the person’s condition becomes more serious (CCC 1515).

It would appear that an individual with a degenerative condition that is ultimately fatal could receive the sacrament of anointing at certain intervals for their spiritual well-being. What your priest is doing seems to be perfectly appropriate.
