Is this a sin as well?

I fell into a particular sin. I wanted to look at porn website, but at first i was worried that it may contain some type of other content i’m too horrified to even type. So at first i went away and read some other stuff. But afterwards, I convinced myself that i’m only going to look at two adults and no other (and would rather die than look at that ‘other’ content). So because of that only i went into the site.
However, as i was going through the site, i accidentally stumbled into an ad on the bottom of the page, that showed what i was most horrified about. So I got out of the site immediately.

I know i commited a sin by my intent to seek content with 2 adults only. But i also feel disgusted with myself for going into that site in particular, because i feared it first, then convinced myself to only look at adults and ignore what other stuff there might be. So even though i saw it by accident was that a mortal sin as well because i went into the site, though worried what it might contain? Or did i sin only for seeking the 2 adult content only?

please pray for me, so that God may give me the strength to overcome my sins.
 
I recommend you go to a priest today and seek sincere absolution, then sin like this no more.

You sinned the moment you opened and looked at the porn site out of your own free will. In general, confess to your priest that you looked at pornography on the net, you don’t have to go into the specifics like you “only wanted to look at two people.”

I have a feeling you are fairly young.

Today you will be looking at adult videos on the net. The next thing you know, you might get addicted like so many people are addicted to pornography and masturbation.

If I’m getting the right sense of what you’re referring to then I believe that you should report that site to the authorities.
 
You have sinned by doing this. Looking at pornography is grave matter. Please go to Confession so that you can be freed from your sin. Also, please make sure that you are firmly committed to not committing this in in the future before you go to Confession as you must have an intention to amend your life in order for Confession to be valid. You must also have contrition for your sins.

Here is what the Catechism of the Catholic Church says about pornography:

It offends against chastity because it perverts the conjugal act, the intimate giving of spouses to each other. It immerses all who are involved in the illusion of a fantasy world. It is a grave offense. Civil authorities should prevent the production and distribution of pornographic materials.

Ok so I’ve sinned by going into the site by free will. But am I also guilty for the content I didn’t want to seek in the first place as well?

The poster asked a question. Your answer was not to the question, rather a remonstrance, which the poster did not need because they were already repentant.
 
The act of going to the website with the intent to view immoral content is the sin, regardless of what all you saw when you went there. It is one ACT of mortal sin.

example: You look at a magazine with the intent to sin. It doesn’t matter whether you look at one picture or go through the whole magazine at one time, it is still one ACT of sin.

If however you look at one picture (the same picture) multiple times per day, each individual time, or act, you do this constitutes multiple mortal sins.

The same as the internet. When you load a website they may have multiple images on the first page but you only committed one ACT. But if you leave that website and then go back again you have commited another seperate act of sin. The same sin committed multiple times.

Now I’m going to muddy the water a little bit. It also depends on your intent. Take the magazine example again. If you look through half of it and decide to stop to “save” the rest for later and then recall what I wrote above and say well it’s one act and if I look at it later that will be two acts of mortal sin, so I’ll just look at it all now, you have just committed another mortal sin. Not everything is clearly black and white all the time.

Pornography is especially damaging, because often it’s a triple mortal sin.

The first is by thought, either prior to the act or after the act in our memory
The second is the actual act of looking at immoral content
The third is because it is often accompanied with the related but seperate act of masturbation.

When in doubt go to confession especially for any mortal sins. Never give in to sin without a fight. It is not a sin (no matter how tempting it is) until we give in with full consent of our will. Try to replace the immoral with the pure. An example would be to think about the suffering of Jesus during his passion, or anything else that would not be a temptation.
