Is this a sin when I tried to stop?

If I started to sin and then tried to turn it the other way, but the sin happened anyway would it be a sin. An example could be that i was at school and a friend asks me if he should cheat. Trying to seem cool, I say go ahead. Then I realize what I did wrong and try to convince them against it. They do it anyways. Am I commiting the scene of scandal by leading them into sin or am I fine because I tried to stop. That is just an example, but Im trying to see if I have righted any of my wrongs.

To the degree that one wills a sinful act, to that degree one is guilty of the sin. It is certainly good to stop and not make it any worse. If the sin is a mortal sin, then it needs to be confessed in the Sacrament.
