Still trying to figure out where my Oklahoma family get you’ns though.
You’ns is very rural midwestern to middle southwest. My extended family “down home” in Southern Illinois uses it a lot.

I am from NC and we always learned to spell it y’all.😛 Many of the people in my family is the poster children for redneckitis. So, if you are sinning so are some very, very sweet people in my family.
Whoops! I meant that many of the people in my family ARE the poster children for redneckitis.😊

Hello I have a question. I have only been Catholic for a little while and I have been basically told by people that I am sinning because I am more of a “redneck” and not “sophisticated”. Is this a sin? I don’t think it is. I mean I am sorry that I would rather go mud boggin then to go to a art museum. Or that I would rather read about deer hunting then the stock market. But that’s just who I am.
Actually “mud boggin” most of the time would be sinful, it completely and recklessly destroys fragile ecosystems and damages the environment. We are called to be stewards of the environment. So, YES that could definitely be a sin.

I though I might add that preferring to hunt deer, rather than go to an art-show, etc, isn’t sinful. There is nothing wrong with having different personal interests or a different personality! 🙂

Hey, Jesus was a Galilean and that was as redneck as you could get. Redneck came from hardworking getting a distinctive sunburn on their neck only. Being a carpenter, Jesus was most certainly a redneck.
And he was not supposed to be that bright. Remember how when He preached to Nazareth, their reponse was, “Hows that redneck Son of Joseph and Mary gonna talk like that.” It in Luke.

 Most states have land that is set aside for recreational uses like this. So, no, I don’t think there is sin in the activity, if the OP is using the appropriate venue for it.

I bet if someone was allowed to bring their 4x4 to heaven with them, Jesus would probably enjoy spinnin’ his tires in the mud too. And then he’d crack a cold one with ya from the Father’s banquet table. 😃

Hey, this is what my kids and I will be doing this summer, and there is land set aside for it…

It’s mind boggling to me how anyone could say mud bogging is a sin:D

If you can do a station of the cross at each of the vehicles on your front lawn, you might be a Redneck.

If your wife used a John Deer cap as a covering to show respect to the Lord, you might be a Redneck.

If your church revs an engine from its bell tower instead of ringing a bell, you might be a Redneck.

If wearing “relatively clean” overalls is your Sunday best, you might be a Redneck.

But you’re still Catholic.🙂

As a Ridgerunner, I could hardly call a Redneck a sinner. I’m not sure there’s a whole lot of difference between them, except that you gotta be in some kind of mountains to be a Ridgerunner, but you can be a Redneck on flat ground as well.

I have nothing against mud boggin’. One of my hobbies is to restore land to a productive, but reasonably natural state. I love doing it, particularly since it allows me to operate machinery. (My wife says that old thing about “big boys have big toys”, but she smiles when she says it) I could restore a mud bog in one year, so it’s no big deal in my mind. In fact, I create lots of them on the way to fixing up exhausted, unproductive land; soil building, etc. Around here, though, the sport is more four wheeling up the dry branches. The Corps of Engineers resents it if you do it where there’s live water.

I always figured “you’uns” or, more commonly, “y’uns” as a deep mountain hillbilly thing, because they say that. I mean the folks who live in hollers so deep the sun don’t never shine in 'em. But there might be a better explanation. Around here, the populace is divided between “y’uns” and “y’all”, with “y’all” predominating. People who say one don’t say the other.

One more thing. SOMEBODY has to keep the deer population down. They multiply like rabbits, and can do a lot of damage when there are too many. In my state they removed all limits on does. You can shoot 1,000 of them and be legal if you can get it done. For bucks, there’s one for rifle and two for bow. Then there’s your wife’s tag, your son’s, your daughter’s, your aunt’s…

Heck no being a redneck anit no sin. And its a good think to cos i am one:D 😃 😃 😃 😃 😃 😃 😃

Are you asking a question???

In future use a couple more question marks to make things a little clearer for us all /sarcasm  .
