Hi, everyone I’ve recently received this beautiful wooden saints bracelet with Divine Mercy Jesus, St. Padre Pio, St. Augustine, Sr. Faustina Kolawska, and much more but interestingly enough it has this image on it…

Is this an Our Lady of Medjugorje statue? If so am I sinning by wearing an image of Medjugorje? Because I can manually take it out of the bracelet. What are your thoughts?

I know Medjugorje threads are banned but could you leave this one and close it later…

Especially since this has little to do with the apparition itself?

I think it is just a beautiful rendition of the Blessed Virgin Mary why would it be a sin?

I agree also. I don’t know for sure if the image is the one used for Medjugorje, but if you can’t be comfortable with it, why not replace it with one of the other images of Our Lady.

Without seeing the whole picture it is hard to say. It almost looks like Our Lady of Grace.

An image of Our Lady is an image of Our Lady. If it makes you think of Medjugorje and you are uncomfortable with that, then take it off. It you see it and it simply reminds you of Mary, then keep it. I agree with beth40n2, that could just as soon be the Our Lady of Grace image.

This is called scrupulosity and I’m not saying that to offend you.

I doesn’t offend me it all. The only apalling part is that I had to google that word. 😛 Now that I googled it I must say I think I have something like that. :o

Yes I too suffer from this same problem so your not alone. While we are called to have a holy fear of Gods Justice we should realize that our holy fear becomes fear when we believe that His Mercy is not just as great as his Justice.

When I feel that maybe I’m being to scrupulous I step back from the stiuation and pray. Then I look at it again. What you have is a beautiful picture of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Christ would never punish you for loving a beautiful picture of His mother.

I agree with the others; an image of Our Lady is an image of Our Lady. BUT…if it makes you uncomfortable, I would take it out.

Blessings

I have one of those bracelets also, and it has the same picture of Mary. Yes I think it’s related to Medjugorje BUT in the end, it’s a picture of Our Lady 🙂 there’s nothing about it that is particular to Medjugorje. It could be just a general picture of her. 🙂

Father Jozo owns an Italian made statue that the picture is of, it is not Our Lady of Medjugorje; but when Father Jozo was pastor at the parish of St James in Medjugorje, this statue was enshrined in the church. While the image is associated with Medjugorje, it is a completely different statue than the Medjugorje virgin, and likely more than one exists. Certainly not a sin, but a beautiful artist rendition of Our Lady, that unfortunately has become associated with a questionable apparition. If you like the image, keep it; if not, then remove it.
