In this Aussie girl band I’ve been listening to for a very long time, one of the twins in the band supposedly became a Wiccan recently. This band is known not to let religion influence their music or push their own beliefs down their fans’ throats. Would it be sinful to still listen to this band and go to their concerts? I’ve been to their shows before and they don’t preach their beliefs or anything. I obviously will never believe in Wicca and I would not let the one girl’s beliefs influence mine.

I would say you are just fine listening to them and such. If we cut out everything in our lives that was made/done by non-Christians, we would loose out on a lot of art, music, science, and wouldn’t be able to go out to most restaurants and stores (many are owned by non-Christians). As long as it isn’t a bad influence on you and they aren’t preaching Wicca, I wouldn’t worry about it.

Makes sense. Thank you!

That says everything you need to know right there. If you were in danger of accepting heresy or blasphemy, or becoming apostate because of going to her shows or listening to her music, then you should avoid her art. That is because we are called to avoid not only sin (such as heresy, blasphemy, or apostacy), but also to avoid the near occasion of sin… things which significantly tempt us to commit those acts.

Since you’ve said there’s no chance she’ll influence you at all negatively and away from the sacraments and God’s grace, you’re good to go!

But… pray for her to accept God’s truth, and for God to give her grace to find Him.
