I know that the Church is against homosexual intercourse, not homosexual orientation.

I was wondering if it is a sin to read books and stories that have two men engaging in a homosexual relationship?

If they were only, say, kissing one another, would it be a sin to read it?

What if they were sleeping together but the story was not explicit about it? Is it a sin to read this?

There are so many ways to sin. Avoid those things that lead to sin, and especially avoid those things which are completely unnecessary and are gratuitous.

That’s not actually correct. The Church is against both but it just happens that the sexual relationship is both disordered and gravely sinful while same sex attraction/tendency is not a sin but IS disordered and can lead to sin.

If the only reason it is or could be a sin is because it leads to “unclean thinking”- then what is the difference between two guys kissing in a book, or a guy and a girl kissing in a book?" Both situations lead to impure thoughts.
