Nope. If you’re living with your parents, they may need to have a clear idea of what’s going on, so that if your old boyfriend approaches them to help you patch it up, that they won’t even think of trying to persuade you to get back together with him. Likewise, if you have a moment of weakness and think of going back to him, it’s a good thing for your parents to be able to say, “Remember X and Y and Z?”
I wouldn’t recommend this to everybody, but if you are close to your parents, they are one of your first lines of defense in protecting yourself against a guy that has been hurting you or that is just bad for you.
You may want to specifically ask their help in keeping you busy and distracted and helping you meet new people.
