and blessing of people not receiving communion in the communion line.
Just know that there are people out there not properly disposed to recieve communion who can go up and recieve a blessing without their parents or other relatives knowing they haven’t recieved. So there is a silver lining in that they do that instead of persuading themselves to receive unworthily.
 
The blessing at the end of mass is sufficient for all regardless of their dispostion and is more a sign of the community as a whole rather than singling people out.

Being the pastor, I have this perogative. Nothing to do with being traditional or progressive- whatever those terms mean. It is just a case of respect…

I understand and I agree with you. That isn’t what my post was about.
 
Being the pastor, I have this perogative.
You BEING the pastor certainly changes how I read that story. A pastor guiding their flock makes a lot more sense than a parishioner showing up telling everyone how it needs to be. Apologies if the clues were there all along.
