Is this an instance when Communion before Confession would be allowed?

If one believes to be in a state of mortal sin, can one still receive communion BEFORE receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation if Confession is only offered AFTER Mass and one is CERTAIN he/she will go to Confession right after Mass?

To receive the Lord in Holy Communion while still polluted with mortal sin is worse than dropping the host in excrement. We need to recognize how vile mortal sin is. It is a choice away from Christ. This is why the act of conversion is so beautiful. When we repent, we turn back to God who readily forgives us.

If Confession is offered only after Mass, then wait to receive the next time you go to Mass. Most parishes have daily Mass. Go as often as you can. You can always make an appointment to go to Confession during the week or just ask a priest when you see him. I’ve heard many Confessions this way.
