Our pastor was just reappointed for a term of six years. Is it appropriate to congratulate him? Or is that offensive in some way that I’m not considering?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum. None seemed particularly…, well, appropriate.🙂
 
i would not exactly congradulate him, but you could say that you are pleased he is remaining in the parish and you pray that he continues to give himself for the good of the parish.
 
Congratulations might be relative… what if he wanted to leave?!! 😃
