Is this Baptism valid?

A coworker has a childhood friend in a Latin-American country. The childhood friend is now a grandmother and asks my coworker to be Godparent to said child. Coworker married a Catholic person, but neither are practicing the faith. I am told after the ceremony that a couple sat in their place for the talks and that they were surprised that the church would allow this. The coworker and spouse show up for the Baptism and the child receives the sacrament. Is this a valid sacrament?
 
Dear friend,

The deceptive behavior of the parents and their friends does not affect the validity of the baptism. The child has been validly baptized.
