Hi,

I got this news report, and I don’t know what’s going on, like if this Navy Chaplain is Catholic or not, I couldn’t tell.

Does anyone know?

npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=6069736&ft=1&f=1003

Long story short, he prayed in uniform in “Jesus’ Name” and is now in big trouble. Sounds like they need to not have chaplains and just have counselors or something generic like that.

After reading the article, no he is not. Looks like he is evangelical Episcopalian.
Lt. Gordon Klingenschmitt, an evangelical Episcopalian, persisted in mentioning Jesus in prayers despite the Navy asking him to stay nondenominational in his work.
Although I don’t know the whole story. It is longer than what is reported here.

I read that and reread it and missed the “evangelical Episcopalean” part!

Can you believe that? Wait…no, don’t answer that!

Anyways, thanks! Now I know

It sounds as if he got in trouble for protesting in a uniform.

That was what the rukus was about.
