This might sound stupid but…
Is it considered detraction(or sinful if not detraction) to reveal to a third party that others have been percecuting you or that you’ve had tensions with others?

One has to judge if you have an objectively valid reason …a good enough reason too…

…one such reason could be to seek advice and or consolation from a prudent person.

Do you mean naming the offenders? If so, it is a serious matter. Try to resolve it with them directly or by avoiding them, first. If their offense is slander (telling others uncharitable things about you), you do need to present your side to those who may have heard the slander with an explanation that a “certain person” is spreading it due to some unrelated disagreement.

If it is affecting your livelihood or life in the community, you may need to approach someone who has authority over this person for recourse (this would necessitate revealing the person to the authority who may be able to take action without publication).

I understand. My recommendation was to attempt to resolve the issue with minimal damage to the other party. After all, we are not to return evil for evil but overcome evil with good. If all else fails, I recognize that it may require more extreme measures (e.g. a restraining or gag order from a court).

Yes…and the person may need advice …in dealing with things…so thus can be a legit non-detraction action…

I sometimes feel a sense of relief if I can talk to fellow workers about the frustrations of working with some people. I think it’s important not to name names.

I was glad that I avoided mentioning the name (despite pressure to do so) of someone who use to drive me absolutely nuts for months - I’d even try to avoid certain shifts - but, thanks be to God, I learned to understand this person and now enjoy working with her.
