Is this considered loss of faith and is it wrong?

A person has a special intention and they pray for that intention for a long time, even years. After not receiving it after so long, they eventually stop praying for that intention. Is that person sinning by losing faith in God or are they merely accepting God’s will that the intention is not for them?

If they stop praying because they believe God’s answer is no, then no. They haven’t lost faith, they have simply submitted to His will. They could pray instead for His will to be done in that area, and for the Grace to accept His will.
